Metallographic Laboratory

The S.Agostino lab owns a quantometer that allows to perform chemical analysis in real time on the liquid samples taken during the melting process and on the samples taken from the rolls for the production verification.

Before the casting, the cast iron is checked either in the furnace and in the ladle (after the spheroidization) by a special thermal analysis PLC instrument.

A spectometer is used for analysis and description of iron alloys; the molding sands are inspected by the use of special equipment.

The metallographic examination of products is fulfilled by using an optical microscope that allows verification of the structure’s conformity.
